Police responded to a vehicle that was stopped along the Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200 shortly before 1 a.m. on Monday, May 16, Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police said.
Upon arrival, officers found several bullet holes on a gold 2007 Toyota Sienna van that was stopped just before Exit 3 at Shady Grove Road, MDTA Police said.
Investigators said the driver of the Toyota was traveling west on MD 200 when a black sedan pulled up beside the Toyota on the passenger side.
After hearing a loud noise and seeing a flash from the sedan, which was also driving without its headlights on, a passenger in the back row said they were hit by something.
That passenger was actually grazed by a bullet to their chin, police said, and while emergency response crews came to the scene, the passenger did not need to go to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact MDTA police at 410-537-6905.
